Are there REALLY rules on exactly when to use the DM feature...or do you pick and choose them as well????

I am soooo not freakin' surprised you deleted my post! It's par for the course.

OK so lets see there are posts being deleted from a thread that is about me, a neighborhood leader in Scranton in NEPA. The OP is a newspaper story in which I am discussed.

Any post referring to me follows the OP and is directly related to me, there for it is on topic and with in the TOS.

The post referring to John Boy is not related to me or the OP and there for should be deleted, but yet it remains.

I love PA, if there is something you would like to say, then by all means send me a DM and be done with the so called powers to be.

I still stand behind this statement 100%, I work in the internet industry and build sites and know more then some think about it.

I've been doing a little thinking and alot or work over the last several months in regards to the internet and SEO's(search engine optimization). The only thing I can think that would literally drive CD or its mods to stay "on Topic" is to drive the search engines to dial the content spydering of google and CD towards the direction they want it to go.

In other words a bunch of threads that don't particularly stay on the specific topic of NEPA for example will not help CD in its google search standings when someone is researching NEPA on google, bing etc...

Search engines drive traffic and traffic drives numbers and numbers drive the $$$$$$$$.

"Off Topic" posts do not directly benefit their analytical numbers of user traffic, refering sites, keywording, traffic sources and overall content search hits as well as cross linking thru the various avenues that CD uses.....

Think about it Does it really help the forum to lock threads and force the "on topic" issues or does it help the numbers.....

Once again.

Search engines drive traffic and traffic drives numbers and numbers drive the $$$$$$$$.

This clears our own Dan (weluvpa) of any wrong doing. I knew these charges were bogus. I have a feeling Dan will be back.
Geez, enough already. Please stop talking about how I am stopping you from talking!

The above is supposedly the topic of this thread. Talk away.

But in many ways you do, you actually to stop conversations and thought processes...

If members of this board want to ahve a free flowing conversation they feel that they have to almost constantly look over their shoulders in fear of censorship, all be it mild, it is what is.

I post on many message boards across the country ranging from internet software issues to fishing and most everything in between and I have NEVER seen the level of shadowing that is present on this sub-form.

The OP is me and my charges being leveled against by the powers to be based on inaccurate and baseless information, those that want to comment on my well being or the way that this particular case turned out only need to discuss me or about or towards me for it to stay on topic based on the TOS.

I do find the massive amount of added to content to the TOS over the last 6 to 8 months that seems to take the life out of a forum alarming, the TOS has grown and has basically become a doctrine of stagnation of opinions and yes stopping people from talking.

Glad your name was cleared; I went through a similar situation, but involving a patient fabricating lies etc. Took me about a year to clear my name and license, so I know how exhausting that can be. Though we may have fervently disagreed on some issues in the past...I often wondered what other posters meant by..."what happened to Dan". Now I know; see, we have something in common. ;-)

HEAR HEAR!!

Like I said, Dan, I'm so happy to see the charges were dropped!! (see...this post is on-topic)...

TBT, through the many DM's between us, I see you are a very nice lady & this has nothing to do with you as a person. BUT. As also with the DM's between us, it's like I talked about..."management style".

All managers (mods) have the responsibility to uphold rules. There are many different "styles" to this "upholding". Hence why some managers are gems & some managers are tyrants. Some managers can keep employees happy & make the business thrive, yet some can make the employees miserable & decline the business. All by different interpretation of the SAME policies & rules.

This sub-forum now reminds me of Hitler Germany. If you question anything, you're given infractions & deletions for "questioning mod action". When anyone questioned the Nazis, what happened??

As Dan said (see...still on topic), "alarming". The very same old-time people that have been "chased away" from this sub-forum are the ones who were here when CD started & MADE this sub-forum as popular & helpful as it was. Years ago, when I was thinking of moving to Nanticoke, these very same people were SO friendly, "homey" & down-to earth that I stayed on as a "regular" even AFTER deciding not to move. We ALL tried to answer posted questions about NEPA for those who asked & actually drew MORE people into the list of helpful "regulars".

Now I see that questions are not being answered, answers given are infrequent, & the whole "tone" of this forum is soured. Maybe the given "style" is not working.....

Oh, & Dan...glad to hear it!!! (ending on-topic)

First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out. I thought this appropriate George.
