I am going to be moving into Woodbridge shortly and was curious about the quality of service offered by Comcast. I will probably be bundling Xfinity and am curious as to the bandwidth, quality and continuity of service for Phone, Internet and TV. Also, if there are any quality services to use in place, if there are glaring problems. Thanks in advance.

I've never used Comcast but judging by many friends and their constant grumbling regardng service I believe it's safe to presume it is a lousy service. I know I've seen where their customer service is constantly ranked in the very bottom.

This Washington Post article might shed a little light.

I have Comcast in PWC and believe me, it's not very good. Last night for example, NBC HD as all broken up with pixelation and the audio was unintelligible during prime time. If it wouldn't be for my HOA bundling in Comcast as part of the dues (which that will end in a year when the contract runs out, thank goodness - due to so many people being unhappy with being forced to use them in my neighborhood) I'd ditch them. If you have another choice, go with it, such as some form of satellite TV or else Verizon FIOS. Either of those are far superior to Comcast. Their customer service is really lousy and they have a notorious reputation as far as that goes. It's no surprise that it was the Manassas office was where that woman took a hammer to some equipment at their customer service desk, as noted in the above post!

It's been better lately - but for awhile you could almost count on the telephone service not working Saturday mornings around 8 or 9 AM!

As to Xfinity - that's a laugh - just a fancy marketing term they came up with. Our service was supposedly changed to Xfinity. No change in internet speed, no change in number of channels. Just a fancy name slapped on to sound like something high tech, to compete with Verizon's FIOS!

I had Comcast for years and it was fine. I didn't have any problems with it. But, for the same things, Verizon FiOS gave me a bit more so I switched. I did ask about XFinity and they told me that they didn't have it in my Woodbridge neighborhood. I'm not overly sure exactly what it was but it was supposed to match FiOS and it wasn't available to me even though I get at least one piece of junk mail per day on it.

We just recently moved to Woodbridge. We have Comcast for internet only (we have satellite for tv). We're happy with the internet service. It has been fast and we've had no connection problems.

At our address, only Comcast and Verizon Fios were available to us. Verizon Fios was more expensive especially since we weren't bundling it.
