Heh, I will admit I hate Manassas.

Whenever I see the highway sign that has both Dumfries and Manassas on it, I read it as "Dumass." Everytime. I don't know why.

I love "hate HOA" threads!

I've heard it but I've only heard it used when talking about Woodbridge HS from other high schoolers, and that was only when I was in high school. Kids using it. School rivalry, crap like that. Like people use to call Food Lion the Food Dog lol. I still call it Food Lion instead of Blooms sometimes.

I call it Hoodbridge, but I use it as a term of endearment. I have loved it here since I moved in November. I live in a working class neighborhood and it feels right to me. I am close to great shopping. My neighbors are diverse and have a level of interaction with my family that I am comfortable with and we all enjoy.

[quote=Megadell;18483859]If anything I'd think Woodbridge would be considered rural, since apparently not too long ago there wasn't anything here.

Not sure what you mean ? I remember that Dale City was developed way back in the Sixties. Much of Woodbridge itself is at least that old -- the part of town that has streets named for Virginia Counties.

Everybody calls it Hoodbridge....affectionately by those living in Woodbridge, and derogatory by those living outside Woodbridge.
"Manfries", love it.

Growing up in Fairfax County, I used to think Woodbridge/Manassas was definitely ghetto. Now, I live there....and every time I have to go into Fairfax City, Annandale, Alexandria, etc...I appreciate PW County more and more.
