I had good luck with Luxman Appliance Repair, (703) 922-9099, out of Alexandria. This was several years ago, though.

L&M's number is actually 703-815-9088 , not 9888. I wanted to give the place a shot, but it couldn't come to my house for about 8 days (pretty heavily booked I guess), so I tried Atlantic Appliance Repair in Springfield based on another poster's recommendation. It was prompt (next day service), very polite and nice technician and reasonable price.
