I need a new barber. Mine is gone, and the people left behind? Nah. Nope. Uh uh. Like rolling dice. Am I gonna get a good cut, or some, horrible, hideous monstrosity that makes me wear a cap all day everyday. I hate taking the chance.

So yea I need a new one.

Anyone in NOVA. Hell, I might be willing to travel up to MD, but maybe not, because my cousin went to someone in MD and I dunno, they must have used some dirty clippers or I dunno what because his hair fell out in one spot and hasn't grown back in yet, and that was like, a year ago.

So yea.

I use Bradlee Barbershop off of King Street in Alexandria and they do a great job: $14/cut. They cut hair of all races though

I've gone into places and been outright told "We don't know how to cut your hair, sorry".

It's not racist. It's just, they don't know how to cut my hair. I wasn't offended. Better them tell me then say oh yea sure, sit down, and wreck my head, then tell me later, yea, I didn't really know what I was doing.

I don't know why it's racist to pretend my hair is the same as a white persons, because it isn't. And when I say black, I don't mean they have to be black, just that they have experience in cutting african american hair, and know what I mean when I describe what I want and know how to do it.

There are a couple of black barbershops on Lee Highway in Arlington, just to the west of Glebe Rd.

There are several in Old Town Alexandria north of King Street and west of Washington. They're all practically within walking distance of each other.

May want to try the one in Landmark Mall. The best black barbershop I've found there.

I agree. One of my black friends here in Louisville gets his hair cut at a shop that is all white barbers. He has one barber there he trusts mainly b/c he puts in good work on his hair. He prefers that barber over the many black shops on the other side of the city.

I frequently drive past one on a corner on the West side of Northound Route 1 a few blocks North of King.

Looked it up. The "Touch Up" one? I'll look into it. Alexandria isn't that far. Not for a good haircut at least.

Thanks. And the little eye rolling smiley just kinda set me off, because it is relevant.
