There was a Post article not too long agao about people giving up their skins season tickets to become caps season ticket holders. Leonsis should buy the Skins.

My personal opinion is there are few true die hard fans like myself in this area. My friends and I (with few exceptions) root for teams with Washington on the front, and pretty much everyone else can go to hell

All things being equal, the Redskins run this town. But Washington loves a winner, which is why there are so many Caps fans at the moment. I guarantee you if the Caps went back to being a sub .500 team, most of them would disappear; that's just the nature of D.C. fans, they love a winner. Most of the Caps fans you see now can't name five players from the team pre-Ovechkin.

Again all things being equal, the Wizards (Bullets) would be #2, D.C. has a long history with basketball and would love a winning team. The Nats would be #3 and the Caps would be #4. My personal preference is Redskins, Nats, Caps, Wizards; I've had a hard time enjoying basketball as much as the other sports though I still pull as hard for the Wizards as I do for the others. The only thing I can't stand (personal pet peeve) is someone with teams from various cities, such as being a Cowboys fan, and a Yankees fan, and a Celtics fan.

It's just how I am, you're born to a city (or wherever you lived when you became aware of sports and fandom) and those are your teams. I think it's complete B.S. to have teams from four different cities, and I'm especially suspicious if they all happen to be recent winners. Sure everyone has the right to root for whoever you want, just as I reserve the right to tell them to go kick rocks and call them out for being frontrunners.

I have to say, I am still happy when the Redskins play well. It is just too heartbreaking to watch at this point. And the aforementionned hatred of Danny.

I wasn't born here, so I don't have to root for the "hometeam" My home didn't even really have any teams. I was midway between Philly and Baltimore until age 17, and the only sport I really liked was baseball (The O's and the Phillies). My dad DID grow up in DC area, though, and he goes all the way back to the Senators.

I honestly have an issue with major league teams in general anymore. It is all about money and not about love of the game. There is very little player loyalty to teams, and the owners just care about making millions. There are very few players anymore that I respect in any way, shape or form.

Not to mention it just costs a damn fortune to take your kid to the games anymore. What is the point? We'd love to take our kiddo to more baseball games, but we honestly can only afford it once in a blue moon.

Did you know the Nats sell $5 tickets? Combine that with $1 hot dog night and you could afford to take your kids and their friends!

I hear this a lot, but I don't find it to be that bad. Baseball is about the cheapest pro sports to attend compared to NBA, NFL, and NHL. Nats Park is one of my least favorite places to see a MLB game, but the three of us can go for less then $50 (tix and parking), while taking in waters and snacks.

Here's another kid-friendly option: Nationals Family Fun Days | nationals.com: Tickets

where are the $5 seats? I know we bought cheapo seats to the O's a couple times, but they were bleacher seats out in the direct sun for hours.

We got a groupon type deal the only time we have taken her. It was $60+, but we were close to the field.

There is also the trek to get there. I think we'd rather go to the Hounds games next year.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Hounds games. We stopped going to P-Nats games a couple of years ago. That place is awful and we decided that the price you pay for going wasn't worth it (Too $$ for the product.)

We took our kid to the P-Nats for her first game. She LOVED it, but that stadium is just the pits. Can't wait for the Hounds, even if the team stinks. It is about the experience.

I think $50+/game more than once every few weeks is a bit out of many people's budgets. If we could go for $15/game, MAYBE it would become worth it a couple times a month.

Oh yeah, we don't go every couple of weeks. We go a few times a season, which is still more than we go to the movies. Talk about pricey!
