I'm 27, and among my friends and I who were born, raised and now raising our children here, Redskins are by far the sports team to root for and who we tell our kids to root for, even though the past decade has been an embarassment. No one has jumped ship and they would be subject to ridicule and disowned should they decide to start rooting for another NFL team at this point. College Football would probably be #1a. Caps are #2, but I feel like a lot of it is bandwagon. I'd put the Nats at #3 purely because it's fun to go out to the ballpark and have a beer and hot dog. I think they'll start getting more popular as they're doing better. Wizards are dead last. I went to a game for free about 4-5 years ago to see the opposing team. If I would've had to pay, I wouldn't have gone. College basketball is way better than the NBA at this point anyhow.
