My friend of mine lived there just b/c they took larger dogs. Parking was a nightmare and the apt was very so-so. If you want a more urban environment, close to DC on your budget it can't be beat. Honestly since you don't have a daily commute, don't seem to care about night life....frankly I would look in Leesburg or further out since there are buses for the odd time you need to come into DC.

OK, thank you so much for the tips! I mean to physically go by/drive by there and definitely visit before I would move in...but wanted to know if I should even waste my time doing THAT. I am not too picky as far as the apartment itself - I don't need brand new everything - as long as the stove works and the water comes out at a decent pressure :-) I lived in an apartment complex a long time ago that still had the roll out windows from the 50s! Haha! What I do care about is that there aren't hudlums walking around non stop and I am around people who have a somewhat normal schedule (up during the day and asleep at night).

I would just say to compare it to something further out and see what the tradeoff's are and what they're worth to you
