Apparently Farrell's still exists in California. I wonder if it's still as good as it was back then. (Probably not. Nothing is as good as "back then")
Best part was winding through the exit aisle filled with toys and candy

Wink Chesapeake Seafood

There is a new place in Springfield,VA. On Loisedale rd, it's being built or possibly it's finished already. It's called Chesapeake Seafood of Springfield,I don't know if it's like the old Chesapeake Bay seafood house. It's all glass and it looks so cool, it's absolutely a beautiful restaurant when you drive-by,I can't wait to try it out.

Let us know. I kind of doubt it will be like the old Chesapeake but you never know. I think I used to pay like $7.99 for all you can eat Steamed Spiced Shrimp with all the fries, slaw, hush puppies and refills you could handle. This was back in the mid to late 70's.

I'm devastated to find out there isn't a single location left. My grandparents would take us after church on Sunday's to the manassas location back in the 80s. I never experienced it after they went buffet style and it's a shame they let it go downhill with that concept as Captain George's does an excellent job with their seafood buffet. I guess Red Lobster ended up being their successor but I've yet to find a hushpuppy as good as CBSH. Thought id gotten lost when my search for seafood turned up chilli's and on the border Mexican Grill -surprised to find they opened chilli's only a year after CBSH.. Wish they'd revisit that concept and bring it back!

I spent almost every discretionary dollar I had out in my impoverished military years hanging out at Chesapeake Seafood Buffet. Since I didn't have a car, I would take metro and several buses and walk after that in all kinds of weather.

One time poster Lindyy posted that there was a new Chesapeake Seafood on Loisdale Road in Springfield. Oh, Lindyy, you raised such hopes in my heart. Too bad you were just a troll and reality stomped them flat.

I regularly go to Rehoboth/Lewes/Cape Henlopen for the beaches. Surfin Crab up Coastal Highway out of Lewes has the best hush puppies I've had since the demise of the CBSH. I've heard good things about the Seafood Palace Buffet in Annapolis. Went up there on business recently and stopped by but it was closed. Might be worth checking out SeaFoodPalaceBuffet

Since there are no longer any Chesapeake Bay Seafood Restaurants left, for Southern-style fried, broiled, blackened, or fresh/grilled seafood/fish, try Blue Ridge Seafood Restaurant in Gainesville on Hwy. 29.

Website is below--

www.blueridgeseafood.com (Blue Ridge Seafood's site.)
