I've never had any issue with getting my deposit back when I rented. It was usually quicker than the required time because the apartments usually had very quick turns. This sounds like she's just plain lazy, IMO.

Glad to hear it. I found it amusing that she told you that you didn't need to threaten her (I've run into this in a different situation--trying to make me the bad guy to deflect, or just general cluelessness). I guess being honest with her about how you would have to pursue legal action so that you won't be taken advantage of, is considered a "threat" by people like her. And if she didn't like being "threatened", all she had to do was follow the contract as she should have without your having to go to the aggravation.

Hope your next experience is much more positive.
