I have, it's great. I live in the NoVA wine country and have fifteen wineries within 20 minutes of me.

I would just like to add people are what they choose to be, you can be happy or miserable anywhere and working yourself to death is not anything that resembles a quality of life. QOL comes with balance, good paying job, recreation and leisure, heathy habits, and a good nights sleep.

Devoting your life to a career is a dead end and will leave you single, lonely, and depressed, my wife manages a fortune 500 pharmacy, I see first hand what being a business woman, striving for that next promotion does to people, she's burnt out, not really worth it in the long run.

Anyways these are just my opinions, life is too short not to enjoy it.

I love it here. Even though I am mostly occupied by work, I do what I can to avail everything this area has to offer.

I do prefer living as close as possible to DC though... it's the proximity to DC that makes areas like Arlington/Alexandria/Springfield/Falls Church more ideal for me than the far out burbs. The furthest I'd ever live is maybe Reston/Herndon or MAYBE Sterling.

I wouldn't say I'm miserable, but I don't particularly like it here. Cities and dense suburbs are not my cup of tea at all, and anything else around here would require a long commute. I also don't care for the culture of the area. We're going to see if we can move further out to Loudoun or maybe somewhere in MD, but we're also looking for jobs elsewhere.

I'd say 1/4 of my friends here love it, and 3/4 can't wait to move back to their home states.

I couldn't live there but I would work there for the better money the region offers. Of course I live in Orange so a job up in Fairfax would be a heck of a drive, lol. I almost took a position in Chantilly.

It's pretty where I live but the better money is up where you guys are so if you want the beauty of central Virginia and the money of Northern Virginia you have only choice, drive, and I do it 5 days a week with a half day on Saturday.
