Who was it that said we didn't get a blizzard?? It's been one for awhile now.. hard to tell how much snow w/the drifts but at least 2 ft. My neighbor (elderly guy I wanted to check on) can't get out his doors other. Nothing has moved in the neighborhood except a woman walking a springer spaniel who was having a ball.

Even WITH a snowblower, I am not looking forward to clearing the driveway tomorrow. I'd gladly give a bag or Oreos....... or even a case of Oreos....or even a case of good beer.....hell, I'd even give a case of good scotch not to have to do it.

It's been hard enough to keep the doggie poop trail clear for them.

We have more that 20" now, and with the wind, our van is almost completely buried.

What we have had over the past few hours has added quite a bit. Not going to venture back out yet to measure.

I think I just read that Dulles Airport has topped out around 29".

I'm just happy we didn't lose power here, normally, if a squirrel farts the wrong way we lose power.

The picnic tables and benches in our common area are all submerged. First floor of our building have snow right up to the first few inches of unit windows.

Glad it's done, I still don't anticipate being able to leave for a few days though. It's a mess out there.

My street hasn't been cleared at all. Not one inch. I couldn't leave if I wanted to.

I shoveled around my car 3x in the past 36 hours and it barely looks like I put a dent in the snow. We got at least 2 foot. Looks closer to 3.

I can easily see myself having to telework Monday and possibly Tuesday.

Well, I was wrong, I admit it. Very cool, even if Alexandria got short-changed compared to the western burbs. DCA is only reporting around 18 here, but that'll likely be revised as an error (already acknowledged), as it's closer to the mid-20s. Still, upper 30s to low 40s in the western burbs are just crazy.

According to the National Weather Service Dulles got 37.3 inches. You can see lots of other area totals here, PNS Map

According to an email from my state delegate, "VDOT’s goal is to get the highways and primary roads (eg. Rt. 1, 123) clear by Sunday. That will allow large secondary roads (e.g. Keene Mill, Braddock, Rolling. Mt. Vernon Memorial) to be done Monday. Thus, you should not expect a plow on your residential road until Monday afternoon at the earliest."
