I will be in Woodford in a few weeks for Moparpaluza. I am wondering if a metro rail or some other sort of transportation runs between there and the DC area. My wife will be in the DC area for business at the same time I am in Woodford and instead of flying back home she would rather come down to where I'm at and drive back home with me.
Thanks.

Metro does not go anywhere near there.

Check out Virginia Railway Express....I think it ends at Fredericksburg, which I don't think is all that far from Woodford.

It appears the event is on a Saturday, and VRE does not operate on weekends. I'd look into Amtrak or Uber.

Amtrak will get her close-ish to Woodford - either the Fredericksburg or Ashland stop.

She could also rent a car at Reagan/nearby and return it somewhere by Fredericksburg...then she is not at the mercy of the train schedule. Cost would probably be similar to the train ticket - $70? It would depend on how close she is to an Amtrak station as there are plenty of places all over DC area to rent cars, but not many train stations (comparatively).

I checked Uber costs for the DC area.In order to go 10 miles into Virginia it would be $40+
People throw out the Uber card all the time. Either they have way more money then I do (likely) or they
just don't know how much it costs.
