We live in the Countryside community in Sterling, VA which I think would be ideal for you. You can get a detached house for around 450k or less and the area is well looked after by the HOA. Potomac Falls high school is fairly good and the commute would be around 30-40 minutes depending on what part of Tysons you're going to.

You are close to One Loudoun and also a short drive to Reston Town Center and have several great parks etc close by. This part of Sterling is North of Route 7 and is in zip code 20165. Let me know if you have any questions about the area and I will be happy to help.

Why you talking down Pimmit Hills haha. We chose not to flash our wealth. We rather invest and own other rentals than spending to get a McMansion. We like the laid back way it is and do not need to prove to others. The location is terrific!

Thank you for your comments. Traffic is much worse than we anticipated. Vienna is certainly nice but a little pricey in my opinion. Thanks again.

McLean and Reston are nice as well. I see what you are all saying about the town homes. Renting would be a little rough considering we wouldn't want to change school districts twice. We will be driving around trying to get our bearings the next couple days. Hope to explore Herndon tomorrow.

Good luck and send me a private message if you have any Reston specific question.

Taking a look at the available listings, it really looks like the best bets are Fairfax, Burke, Chantilly and Centreville.

I'm not aware of any breweries in Burke. Vienna has one(Caboose) which opened last year which is pretty good. Fall Church which is not too far away from Vienna has a good one too(Mad Fox).
