Personally, I hope it all tracks north and we just get rain. I don't think it's likely, but I will still hope. After 38" with the blizzard last year, I never want to shovel again.

I don't want to (can't) shovel again. I'm currently watching NBC news, the "teaser" new updates on snowfall predictions, she'll be back.

Also hoping it goes somewhere else

Thanks. I missed the 6 o'clock news so I'm watching abc7 now. I see we have been moved to a WS Warning, so the confidence that we will get some snow is solidifying.

Looks like 3-6" for us in Springfield according to abc7.

I can't imagine 3 inches is going to get a closure.

No, they learned their lesson with the March 2013 closure. In many ways this storm could be similar, with DC getting drastically less snow, but the suburbs doing well and the outer regions (Leesburg and west) getting hit hard. One of those storms where 1 or 2 degrees makes all the difference in the world, and while the weather models are good, they aren't always that good.

Well I decided that if I'm going to watch our budding trees and flowers take a dirt nap this week, then I'm going to do it in style.

Firewood restocked, fire pit covered and ready, and case of beer in garage fridge. I figured I and my neighbors can sit around our fire pit and be warm while the squadron of kids sled down our street and our hill.

Let's do this!

I had to turn off the news last night. You'd have thought the apocalypse was coming. The local news can really get hysterical when it comes to snow. Go to someplace like Buffalo/Minnesota and you get the forecast without all the panic.

I know. Sounds like I should also be saying something like "Get the hell off my porch" but I'm really not that old.

Looks like the predicted totals for my area dropped a lot overnight.
