Generally my favorite also. The Woodbridge El Pollo Rico has closed down for the second time and I heard it was permanent. First time was for a big fire. I heard there was one the second time, but not really sure. All very weird, but I miss it.

Then in this past April I grabbed some of their food for takeout around 4:45 p.m after work. The next day I had, shall we say, severe stomach issues. Severe. As in repeated bouts. I thought I had dysentery. I'm done eating there. Which is a shame, because I live very nearby.
If you're feeling lucky and want to play Texas Hold 'Em with your intestinal tract, at least go when it's busy. I suspect the pollo had been sitting on the counter since the lunch rush. Or maybe it was the spinach.

I've eaten there semi-regularly for a number of years now and never had an issue.
To be honest, I think it's a bit of a luck of the draw. I've had that type of thing happen to me at Big Buns in Ballston a couple years ago...and yet a lot of people love that place and can only say good stuff about it. A friend of mine had it happen quite severely after eating at a highly recommended Persian restaurant in Clarendon.
