So, they say it's getting closer..........I am glad I don't live mid-county any more, but I would not mind catching a flight from there. LOL, @ NIMBY attitude. I don't care one way or the other, but I am sure many will care.

My opinion is that it's basically a non-factor for pretty much everyone inside the Beltway, so it's nothing that would affect me.

I can see Manassas, at best, netting “Ultra Low Cost Carriers” like Allegiant or Avelo that offer limited weekly service to destinations in Florida and the Northeast. I don’t think the airport is attractive or convenient enough to lure legacy carriers or any meaningful service away from DCA or IAD.

If Manassas Airport would offer the same prices and destinations that BWI offered, it would be a huge benefit to me as a flyer.

However, there is way more residential around Manassas Airport than BWI, and I am sure the residents would not be happy about the noise.

BWI is a royal pain to get to, but when you are looking at $150 off each way, it's hard to turn down. Crossing fingers they pull this off, but like anything else, Prince William County has a way of killing any commerce trying to get in: Disney, Commander's stadium, data centers.......there's more, but all of it NIMBY motivated. Hell, we can't even get a needed road interchange approved because of all the special interest groups fighting each other.
