Hello,

I will be relocating to NOVA in November to work in Arlington. I am looking for a studio/1br apt. w/ metro access (I don't drive) that is $1200 or under and SAFE... does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Try 2200 columbia pike.

It's a nice apartment building with a pool on the roof, great view, and parking, for both residents and visitors.

From there, you can catch the bus to the Pentagon metro station. It's plenty safe since it's near the Pentagon and Columbia Pike is a heavily traveled road.

Access to the apt requires buzz in for visitors.

It has a small gym, laundry on top level, and utilities are covered.

Check to see if they have a "junior executive" suite available. This suite has a single bedroom, bath, a living/dining room area, and small kitchen.

My gf at the time was renting it for about $800/month, but that was about 7 years ago.

They also have a sister apartment directly across the street, but no pool.

The neighborhoods along Metro's orange line (Ballston, Clarendon, etc.) would be an obvious place to look. I don't know what rents are these days, but areas with convenient subway access tend to have higher rents. Apartments along Columbia Pike would be cheaper, but you would have to take a bus to reach the subway.
