To change the subject, rental car companies have a 25 year minimum age, and also forbid customers from driving within 50 miles of the Mexican border.

Nope. They charge a surcharge if you are under 25, but Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, etc will all rent a car to you at age 21. I'll just link two for the hell of it.

Yes, she was denied check-in because of her age----she wasn't 21.
An age established by society and precedent.
I'll be watching for your posts about what age one can purchase a firearm or buy alcohol.
There are indeed "some laws".
