Hi,
My office is in Richmond VA. My wife's job location is in Owings Mills.
I have a bus to commute to Richmond daily from Mclean (2 Hrs journey).
We want to stay in a place (Closer to Mclean) and easier to commute to Owings mills by public transport.
Could you please suggest a good place to stay considering our situation.
Also, please advise on the type of transport.

Thanks

That is an outrageous commute for both of you. I can't imagine doing that.

I am not sure how you can get to Owings Mills by public transport, perhaps taking the MARC train from Laurel, MD to Baltimore, then transferring to the Baltimore Metro which goes out to Owings Mills.

In this case your best bet would be living somewhere around Bethesda, MD so your wife can drive to the MARC lot and you can drive to McLean to catch the bus to Richmond.

I'd have to agree with tarp. Bethesda/Chevy Chase MD would be a better bet. And your wife will probably be better off driving since as already said she'd have to probably go into Baltimore before coming back out to Owings Mills.

Mass transit is actually pretty good in the Washington/Baltimore region but you happened to pick a rather unusual commute.
