Nitrovic,

What paper did you get these clips from? I've been wondering how to get Woodbridge news, but haven't found a neighborhood paper.

As for Bayvue, that place truly seems to be the apartment complex most adept at attracting criminal residents. I've yet to hear anyone speak a good word for it.

The Potomac News is at every store in the Woodbridge area. Online it's www.insidenova.com. Pretty much sucks as a local paper but it's all you have except for the Metro section in the WaPo which covers the entire DC area.
I have to laugh at the guys long winded response regarding Woodbridge and how great it is. As a long time police officer for Prince William, now retired, you couldn't pay me to live in 90% of Woodbridge. Yes, some areas are better vs others but the area in general has been in such decline that it pulls down the entire area. There are still plenty of good law abiding people who live in Woodbridge and I feel for them. The illegal immigrant issue took hold of Woodbridge and has squeezed the crap out of it. For those who defend the rights of those to congregate around 7-11's have you ever been to one at the time they are all there? Have you ever walked around the 7-11 to see the areas unseen by the passing motorist?

I feel for the immigrants who are here and trying to do their best and the right thing. But too many here are nothing but criminals who prey on the innocent. Sure, no different than any other criminal but we're only compounding the criminal problems with the near open borders.

Illegals are not the only problem in Woodbridge but it's a big issue. Woodbridge has had many problems well before the immigration issues kicked in.

Thanks for the crime report. I am thinking about going back to Fairfax even though I just bought a small cheap house in Lake Ridge, near Woodbridge HS. Not sure if the decision to go back is a right move either. I like this quiet section but hate to wake up every morning thinking about safety issues.

Please help me to understand why the perp are mostly confined to certain races, especially in NOVA. Sometimes it's shaken my strong belief about don't judge people by their color. I hope I can continue to carry that belief 'till the day I die.

Blacks in NOVA are usually in the lower socio-economic class.

If you live next to WSHS, you should be fine.

To add, in 2008, Prince William County had 12 murders, 28 rape victims, 248 robberies, and 197 aggravated assault crimes.

12 murders consider statistically low given the size and complexity of PWC population. Any home invasion/burglary in Lake Ridge resulted in murder? Living alone even with a loaded gun is not safe if some crazy people decide to illegally enter your home. Whatever happens in your house (even townhouse) neighbors would not know a thing.

^ The data doesn't differentiate between between the different types of murder. It's just listed as a homicide. I'm pretty sure some/if not most of the 12 victims knew the killer.

Nemesis is correct. Most murders are either domestics or drug beefs. Even most "home invasions" I have seen involved the drug trade.

Also, Nemesis has a point about the Socioeconomic issues regarding minorities. If you take classes such as Criminology and Sociology, you learn about the issues involved in crime rates and race related crime. Low income whites in trailer parks and "white ghettos" have the same issues.

Personally, I don't have pre-conceptions about race. I don't trust anybody, no matter what their color.
