hi! i'm looking to rent an apartment somewhere near pearl harbor and was wondering what i can expect to be paying for utilities? i will probably live in a small apartment and split with roommates, but i'm just wondering what other people pay? here in oklahoma it usually runs around 60-80 per month...i'm guessing it'll be way higher in hawaii, though! thanks

My electric was about 70-90 with no A/C and running fans and computer all the time when I was home. 1 BR, electric stove, one person. Turning my water heater off on trips really saved me money! it went down to about 60 bucks on the months I had taken a trip. Oh yeah, no W/D or dishwasher either. I did have to pay about $20 a month doing coin laundry though.

We run about $125/mon. on electric consumption for two people and a mutt. This includes 32 inch LCD TV which unfortunately is forever tuned to some odious but apparently popular Korean soap opera, H20 Heater, stove, 3 fans. lights and various device battery chargers...oh and an electric blower hair dryer. We have a clothes dryer, but usually hang stuff on the lanai to dry when there isn't a lot of humidity, however when the humdiity is high we usually don't use the clothes dryer because it's too hot. Note: YMMV Your mileage may very, i.e. your costs are your's.

My first apt ran around $120 for a small two-bedroom. There were 2 of us, no AC (just fans on all the time), and gas stove... don't remember how much our gas bill was though.

Second apt was a small one-bedroom for just me. I got my electricity down to around $60 per month - no ac, electric stove.

Our electric runs between $250 to $280 every month. We use the A/C daily. Have it set to 78-80 degrees, but with the noise around us, we can't leave the windows open. All the appliances are electric as well.
