Why is there hardly any traffic (from Ewa side) on the H-1 when school is out? Will rail accomplish that same effect?
You do know that all lightrail is in oahu is to keep up with other mainland cities who have it. Its really kinda crazy to expect people to just get out of the convenience of using there cars when stats have shown time and again that isn't the case in almost every city with lightrail. Thats the insanity of it. Sure i suspect more poor and people who use da bus to use HART.

True. Keeping up with the Jones's. I wonder how much its going to cost to ride the Light rail?
I did not hear if there is a price yet. Probably will be a while before we find out the cost to ride.

Idk but our busses and lightrail fares keep going up every 6 mths or so here in Portland. For myself im kinda scared for people in honolulu because most everything is so overpriced already. I don't expect HART to be any different. I also believe they should of ran the train to waikiki but then again that would take away tourism money from taxis and shuttle busses etc, which i imagine is big money.

It's intent is to keep traffic from getting any worse, so in 10 years it is the same as what we have now.
I'm genuinely looking for the answer of why when school is out we have NO traffic from Ewa side on the H-1.

No traffic seems a bit extreme - but when UH takes a break, you've got 20,000 students right there with the majority commuting - now take all the elementary school parents not picking up kids - as well as high schools and you've got a lot of cars off the road.

Poor people probably wont even be able to afford riding the rail. I'm surprised they can still ride the bus with fares that keep rising.

Yeah wouldn't it be great if the rail was actually going to UH Manoa as originally intended and was part of what we voted on?

No. I don't think the H1 ever literally has NO traffic. But it traffic that is going at least 55MPH.
It is seriously like night and day. What you said was my suspicion but I've never looked it up.
Leave it to Hawaii to build a rail for billions instead of finishing the school that it is already started out here.

Traffic was pretty bad today going East Bound H1. Due to the Accident at 2.45pm today, in the Pearl City area.
That is a good question on why the school is not finished?
