I keep reading this week that the rains have caused flooding and mudslides in Oahu. Do any of you live there? We are flying in on Sunday and staying at the Hilton Village. Any issues we should be aware of?
thanks

Yep, live here.
Weather will be getting better by Sunday. There has been a lot of flooding - you'll be fine at the Hilton. Lots of runoff into the ocean - you may want to stay poolside. Hiking is out with all the rain unless it is paved. Everything generally open for business.
Thanks for the updates. I couldn't info on a tornado, glad your OK. When someone said we wouldn't be in the ocean is it because the undertow increases or waves are bigger or something else? How long does it take to calm down? Thanks

The issue right now isn't the waves or undertow - and many will probably still jump in the ocean. The issue is with all of these storms - it creates huge mud and garbage runoff from the mountains and ends up in the canals - and ultimately the ocean - that water is very dirty. It'll take some time for that runoff to clear out.

It's not because of waves or undertows, although they can always be factors.
It's the "Brown Water Advisory." Here's a Honolulu website with some info:
If there are no more rains that cause runoffs, or sewage spills, these things usually take about a week to clear up, IME. There will be signs on affected beaches but you may see many people in the water anyway. Not a good idea.
