I like the little Leonard's truck parked off the highway. That's all they sell and they're right out of the grease! YUM okay, I did spend nearly half my life in the part of the country where they even deep fry butter. twinkies, pickles, snickers, coke... nothing's safe from the deep-fryer!

Off topic but I finally got curious enough to google what a hunter seat looks like.

Not all that comfortable looking.

Differences in interpretation can be funny sometimes... I thought hunterseat was quite clear about what hunters eat:

As far as making malasadas at home, one recipe I found admonished the reader not to let the finished malasada gain more than 10% in weight in frying, and I just thought... that's not going to be an authentic tasting malasada!

LOL! It's been my "username" and forum name forever so it's easy if I just stick to it. It's a riding style, English, jumping, small saddles that might not seem comfortable to anyone used to the sprawling Western. Before I came to HI I sold my saddle collection, about 6. (I have a horse friend who calls me hunters eat just to aggravate me. I love her.)

BACK TO DONUTS. I stopped at Zippy's last night on the way back from the airport and skipped the malasadas - they just weren't Leonard's.

So you weigh them when they come out of the grease and toss the overweight ones? [] I'd be hanging out by the trash can!

LOVE IT!!!

Back on topic, y'all...I can't talk about malasadas, I don't like fried food.

I don't have a personal recipe to share, and I can't copy this one due to copyright restrictions, but here's a link to a recipe that looks pretty good: Malasadas Recipe - Allrecipes.com

Good luck!

I could never make those. I'd eat them all. That recipe got some good reviews! I don't do bread well. I should try harder.
