My wife and I are staying at the Kahala for our 25th anniversary in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant we could eat at for our anniversary dinner? Preferably not a chain we can get in California and not too fancy-shmancy??? Price is not an issue. Thanks for your help!
We have been to Chuck's Steakhouse three times now, once (first time) for our anniversary dinner and the other two times with family and/or friends. Had excellent service all three times and the steaks were cooked to perfection. We are far from fancy-schmanzy or better yet what we call "pretty food". Both the family and friends said they would definitely eat there again.

You didnt say no to romantic right? I heard that these tours all have different experiences, from fancy to casual. Check it out and you can also back it up with recommendations from yelp.
If price is truly not an issue - an unforgettable place is "Vintage Cave" at Ala Moana - starts at $295/person, will truly be an unforgettable experience - it is more than just a restaurant.
Will run over $1,000 for 2 with wine - you'll never forget it.
Without hitting the nosebleed range, I think it's hard to beat celebrated chef Roy Yamaguchi's signature Hawaiian Fusion restaurants for a combination of Hawaiian tastes and styling, great food, great service, and romantic ambience. One of the most romantic and memorable evenings of my entire life was enjoyed in a Roy's.
Don't confuse these with the chain of the same name on the mainland, which is owned and operated by Bloomin' Brands (Outback Steakhouse, Carraba's Italian Grill, Fleming's Steakhouse). Yamaguchi does not exercise control over the quality of those restaurants. The Roy's in Hawai'i are the real deal.
Thank you so much for the recommendations. We will definitely check them all out.
LOL.... Whtviper1, I had to laugh. I guess saying that price was not an issue was a mistake. Although your recommendation sounds great, that is a little steep for me. I am curious about it though so I will have to check it out.
OpenD, I didn't realize that Roy's was NOT the same as the one in Newport Beach so we will definitely have to consider that!
Thanks again!
Any more recommendations are welcome.
Good for drinks - but I can't really recommend the food there...
We were there in May. The food and service was AMAZING!
