No offence intended but get a grip, look how upset you and others get when anyone purposes an ideal of how history isn't like what iis written in western history books. Look how you unconsciously circle your wagons with other white people or people who think western. Why? If this was a baseball game your ahead 9 to 1. Is it to protect something? Look up the term white supremacy, it means more then just the guys wearing sheets.

According to City-Data information about the state: "Most native-born residents of Hawaiian ancestry speak one of several varieties of Hawaiian pidgin, a lingua franca incorporating elements of Hawaiian, English, and other Asian and Pacific languages. In 2000, 73.4 % (down from 75.2% in 1990) of Hawaiians five years old or older spoke only English at home."

The breakdown of languages spoken as provided by City-Data:
The following table gives selected statistics from the 2000 census for language spoken at home by persons five years old and over. The category "Other Pacific Island languages" includes Chamorro, Hawaiian, Ilocano, Indonesian, and Samoan. The category "Other Indo-European languages" includes Albanian, Gaelic, Lithuanian, and Rumanian.

Not only is it tedious to read these constant rants but they are becoming increasingly, blatantly racist. This is a large forum with many places to debate, etc. I live in Hawaii and it would be so nice to be able to read my states forum without this offensive ("intended' or not) BS everyday.

Hawaiian By Heart, with all due respect, you just proved Mark.ca right with your last post. I really think you mean well and can make some good points. The question is, can you make them without the racist comments?

I do have a question for you. What about all the native Hawaiian and hapa people who by your standards, "think western"? Would you also consider them to be white supremacists?

Whenever a sentence begins with "no offense intended," it often serves as a warning that what follows will be offensive.

Similarly, whenever someone uses "with all due respect," it often serves as a warning that they will be disrespectful.

No offense intended and with all due respect, the "white supremacy" tangent that this thread has taken is asinine.

Jonah K, maybe sometimes it does but when I say it, I mean it. I respect Hawaiian By Heart's opinions. I just wish he could find a way to give his opinion without using words that many would consider to be racist or at the very least, sound racist.

Okay.

It might be better to do a little rephrasing and add a "respectfully" to convey the sentiment. The phrase "with all due respect" has several connotations that have obscured its original meaning.
Urban Dictionary: With All Due Respect
