I'm moving from Michigan and already have a driver license I wanted to know when I transfer my license to Ohio will I have to take a road or written test to transfer my license?

This just came up on the Columbus forum. You don't have to take a driving test if your current OOS DL has no restrictions, and although it still says on the website that you have to take a written exam when coming from OOS, with a valid OOS DL, you no longer have to take the written test. Call the number at their website.

i recently(within the past 6 months) had to trade my nh license for an oh license so i could get my oh cdl....i had to take the written(computerized) and vision test all over again to get the oh license.

Just moved from Michigan to Ohio not that long ago. Just got my Ohio License about a month ago. No test except vision.

Maybe … Maybe not.

I didn't check for specifics, but there are different requirements for a CDL than for a standard license.

If you truly feel you were treated unfairly, check the BMV website.

THanks, I called about spoke with the Ohio BMV and was told all I need is a Vision test, not a written test.
