By "reasonable" I mean "reasonable to me."

I just want to say that I am looking forward to moving to the area between Dayton and Cincinnati next year. I want to be close to family and I have family in the Loveland area. I currently live about an hour and a half from Dallas in the Tyler, Texas area. I actually had to GO DOWN in price to find what I am interested in! I thought our home prices were pretty reasonable but comps in Ohio seem even moreso!

Yep, people leave Ohio for weather & employment reasons leaving our housing very affordable by national standards.

I agree, but employment isn't an issue for me, and I'm hoping the weather around the Cincinnati region isn't so terrible! LOL I'll be honest with you - I'm not looking forward to colder winters but I AM looking forward to shorter summers.

Good luck in the B of the CBDMetroplex. Middletown here, a city halfway between the C and D in Butler County. Awesome place to live. Small city on the Great Miami on I-75 halfway between downtown Dayton and downtown Cincinnati.

That’s good news about the house prices. I prefer cold to the heat. It will be nice to be by some of your kids.

Loveland area itself is nice and reasonably priced.

You'll be fine. It doesn't snow all that much. But people freak the heck out if snow is even hinted at in the forecast, so maybe that will help you feel more at home.

I'm planning on moving back to Cincinnati after I retire in 2 or 3 years. Wanna do a Golden Girls thing? We'd need a big house for all our pottery. LOL

I am planning on retiring too! I will keep you posted on things. I also have lots of pottery though...hmmmmm....

Anyway, the reason why we get all excited and nervous about snow is because we don't have snow plows and de icing trucks and that sort of thing down here where I live. It's simply not justified. But I have been in some serious snow in the Columbus and Dayton areas before and I'm not crazy about it but I'll probably just stay home more.

You get used to the cold & snow. It’s not nearly as bad in the southern half as the Upper Midwest. Streets get plowed fairly quickly in towns and we only average a blizzard about once per year where you’d have to worry about getting stuck. Just remember to drive slow and tap your brakes to stop (stopping suddenly you can/will skid).

Thanks for the advice. I will probably just stay home a lot more but I guess that's OK too.

I do like the different plants and that sort of thing the further north I go. I also like having four distinct seasons. Here it's Summer, Summer, Almost Christmas, and Christmas.
