I commuted into OKC from the east. Most of the commuters are driving INTO OKC in the morning and leaving at 5.

The normal drive time is 30 minutes, but if there is ANY kind of mishap, I-40 gridlocks. We used to all drive 80-85 mph in the fast lane and the older cars do 70 in the slow lane on I-40.

I also would not live IN Shawnee, but on the outskirts of town. It is growing fast and has some very nice houses being built on the outskirts of town.

Good luck!
