Hi,

Just wondering how the property taxes are in OK, somewhere like OKC? I live in Phx, AZ and our taxes are cheap! I'm just exploring the country (through this forum) and started looking at OKC. I looked up houses and they are very nice for what I paid here in AZ.

Taxes though I have a 1400 sqft home and pay about $1100 a year. I paid $300k for it early this year. How does that compare? Thanks!

Property taxes are LOW in Oklahoma. I don't live there now but am from there and most all of my brothers/sisters live there. I seem to recall the property taxes in Oklahoma being around 1/3 of what they are here in Texas. For example, I have a 140K house here in DFW and my property taxes are $3500.00 a year. In Oklahoma City, the same valued house is around $900 a year, if I recall what my brother told me. Below is a property tax calculator for Oklahoma County, but I don't know all the values to plug in. But trust me, the property taxes are very low for Oklahoma. However, you do have to figure in that Oklahoma does have a state income tax, which we do not have here in Texas. All in all, it's still cheaper to live in Oklahoma.

Hi. I don't live in OK, but may be able to help you find a place that will help you with your question. Sperlings Best Places has a comparison chart on their site. It will tell you so many things that are in comparison to the place you now live to the place you want to live. The percentage of taxes is one of those things. They also will tell you the cost of medical care, utilities, medical care, crime, etc. It will even tell you the average price of housing in the two areas. Happy hunting.

We have a 1650 sf home in Yukon, OK and I think it's about $1300/year. We paid $130,000 a few years ago but I'm not sure what that appraised value is now. cheap compared to some areas and probably higher than others.

On my 2000 square foot house on 5 acres in rural Creek County, though within 10 miles of downtown Tulsa, the taxes are higher than ever at $1550 a year.

Default From NE Oklahoma

Well, we have a cheapie house in Bartlesville Oklahoma. Paid 22k for it a few years ago, valued at 45k now.
1200sq ft. 1/3 acre in town and not really in the bad area...just cheap...
After filing for homestead exemption our taxes this year are $175.00

can't beat that....

Looking at a 2022 sq ft in Tulsa--House worth about $127,000 and taxes run about $1400

Broken Arrow's taxes seem a little steeper than Tulsa's so it may be each county is a little different.
