Hi everyone :

I want to know why it is that only certain people such as women with children or are pregnant qualify for sooner care and not others? My girlfriend is not pregnant, nor does she have children, but suffers from other medical issues that some of which prevent her from working. She isn't getting SSI/SSDI which is another reason why she doesn't qualify for sooner care. Are there other medical insurance plans she may qualify for?

Try cowboy care much more down to earth and under standing. Pardon my sooner bash. I hope you find real solutions.

Unfortunately she does not meet any of those guidelines right now. She lost her appeal for SSI and is awaiting a rehearing

I was on ssi a few years ago. When I got a raise I got a notice from the state saying I didn't qualify since I recieved too much. I got 20 some dollars before so it wasn't too bad, but you have to remember this state would rather bank money to fight every federal plan they have to enforce, or build athletic crap over caring about people. I hope she gets the SSI but if she gets enough she still may not get sooner care.

If everyone met all requirements for everything it would be so strange.

In Oklahoma, you're SOL unless you have kids, and even if you do it can be a challenge. OK is not a good place to be if you're down on your luck or have mental health issues. Poor safety nets, nothing but low paying jobs, bad schools, bad roads, high crime. OK is not ok!! Get out if you can

Default Move to Indiana...

She would qualify for Healthy Indiana Plan. FSSA - HIP: Federal Poverty Level Income Chart

I am on it and I pay 2% of my income monthly for a premium (which they call a "power account payment"). If she has zero income, her power account payment would be a $1 a month, unless she wanted to go on Basic, which is $0. The Plus plan (which is where the 2% comes in) also covers vision and dental.

FYI, I am an Oklahoma transplant to Indiana. I would not move back to Oklahoma if my life depended on it.

Apparently the young lady's issues do not fall within the given perimeters. Did you not post that she was relocating to be closer to you?

Because she falls into the gap created when Oklahoma declined to expand Medicare.

Stop voting for legislators and a governor that don't give a crap about you.
