Oh, LOL....not usually the black-eyed peas, but people do have problems with kidney and pinto beans for that. A little dense here today, these holidays are tiring. It's rush rush rush and then they're all over, thank goodness.

I usually leave the tree and the strung lights up until New Year's day and then pack it all away. I can't believe we are going on another year; it seems this year went so fast.

AP, You're not dense...he's just full of hot-air (as usual )

Hoppin' John is a Southern Dish using Black-eyed peas, bacon or ham hocks, onions and rice. For the lazier folks we can even buy it pre-made in the can here.

Thank you LR LOL...that MK, I tell ya. . Hoppin' John version sounds good. My grandmother was from the south and what a cook she was! That hoppin' john almost sounds familiar; trying to remember if that was a dish my grandma made when I was a little girl. I do love southern cooking!

We only borrowed the snow for about a week, just to see what a White Christmas was like. You'll be gettin' all of it back soon.

OK, I'll give a little Christmas Spirit and let it slide this time ;-), but next time you have to ask for it in advance so we can put it on the schedule.
