If you mean "identify as Christian" rather than church attendance, how important is religion in lives, etc., then the answer is definitely YES. Add the non-Catholic and Catholic Christians shown here in this poll together and the total is well above 50%:

LDS has a large presence, but I am conflicted on if I should count them as Christian. As a cult, I would normally say no, but they do preach Christ.

Seems like Portland is majority Christian. I have no idea about Oregon as a state though.

Even Portland probably has a majority that self-identifies as Christian. Sure, Church attendance is most likely lower than the US average, but it wouldn't surprise me if up to 70% of the Portland area would identify themselves as Christian.

I would say yes to that simply because the US is majority a Christian country and each Christianity is the majority religion of every state.

It's certainly more comfortable for a non-christian to live in Oregon. By the time you add up all the "not interested", jews, buddhists, hindus, sikhs, muslims, pagans, blue domers, scientologists, etc., you approach a third of the population that is "other." Out of every three people you meet, one of them is not a christian. If nothing else, it broadens the topics of conversation.

Actually, they are a church not a cult. Meridian Magazine - Seven Reasons Why the Mormon Faith Is Not a Cult - Meridian Magazine - LDS, Mormon and Latter-day Saint News and Views

It would be difficult to say what the %'s are. Religion is considered to be private. With the exception of a couple of churches that do door to door missionary work, nobody is going to tell you what religion they practice.

I know a lot of people in Oregon and do not know what religion any of them practice. I've even got a neighbor who is a minister and have no idea what church he preaches at or what religion he is, and I talk to him frequently.
