Well, housing in the inner city near the gunshot wound & meth lab burn hospital should be fairly affordable.

Hi Melissa, just now saw this post, have been away for several days...

There are really nice places to live right in Portland near Emmanuel Hospital. I wouldn't rule it out. NE is a hip cool place to live with plenty of green friendly types. If you go about 3-5 miles east of the hospital the housing is more affordable, though slightly more rundown and mixed neighborhoods. I still think you should try outer Portland on the NE side, on the way to Fairview/Troutdale. If you had to you could take surface streets all the way to Emmanuel (Hwy 30 or Sandy Blvd to Broadway to Emmanuel Hospital).

The Overlook neighborhood in NE Portland is very nice, as it the neighborhood slightly north and east of the Kaiser Interstate clinics.

thanks for all your replies! we had to stay here in MO for a year cause of our lease needing renewed. i didn't get the job at the hospital there in portland . take care!
