Actually Orlando's history goes longer than 200 years ago. Europeans where there in the early 1500's.

I find it interesting that on any city-data board there is a thread trashing whatever city because "it sucks" to live there. The OP being upset because Orlando doesn't have 200+ years of history.. You might as well complain about the lack of palm trees in Minneapolis. Anywhere is what you make it. No where is going to be prefect.

Realistically many criticisms could be about any city/metro of over 1 million people. Traffic is bad in just about any city, There is crime in every city, there are newcomers and foreigners in every city etc.

Could Orlando be improved? Yes. But so could anywhere. Get out explore where you live, join groups( one of the cool things with the internet is you can find people into the same things as you whether it be Hungarian folk dancing, Celtic music, Sports clubs, heck even fetish groups if that's your thing ) Get out and explore instead of complaining!

I just spent a month in Orlando and got back yesterday. I miss it already. I was averaging 5 miles per day walking plus biking and now first day back in San Francisco, I've been laying in bed all day because it's so cold I don't want to do anything lol.

Orlando is great, sort of. But you need a weapon and CCW here, for real. And know how to use it. And you need street smarts, and home smarts. And defensive driving. Get an SUV or truck if you can afford because the drivers are really bad and you want the biggest vehicle so you are the winner when you get in a major accident, which will happen.

Or you could be like Joey Falcon and let the paranoia make you never leave your house

Love lights around palm trees instead of the traditional trees. Probably tired of it in future but for now really like the change from up north with the weather and sun and many places to go. Been here 2 years all settled, ready to explore more. Space center next.

This is very short lived. I wouldn't describe much of our weather as heavenly lol.

You will get tired of the Palm trees. Especially when it comes to new communities. Most builders put two palms in front on every single house.
