Is anyone else concerned about all the horrible drivers around this area? Awhile ago someone tried to run my girlfriend off the road on Florida TPK. Now someone is arrested for road rage in Deltona. We are concerned. And even if they don't do road rage, the drivers here are just bad.

This is borderline Paranoia, most cities with population over 100k+ have bad drivers and road rage, ORLANDO gets millions of tourists from all over the world, this adds to the bad driving in the area.

Yes, Joey is quite paranoid indeed, but one has to admit, the drivers here are just plain terrible. And not terrible as in NYC aggressive-driving type, but terrible as in not knowing how to drive. There aren't many places I can think of (if any) with worse drivers than what we have in FL.

Aren't most drivers in ORLANDO NYC transplants anyway?

I agree with you Joey. Drivers here are a mixture of bad and reckless. I've never seen so many people that make illegal turns and run red lights. This is the only area where I wish some San Francisco would come into play with $500-750 red light cameras that flash when the light turns yellow and the law states running a red light is the same as running a yellow.

I think a lot has to do with the traffic light system. The traffic lights feel like if you miss the green, you'll end up waiting 5 minutes until the next cycle, which even makes me want to speed through yellow lights. Either way, to stop this kind of behavior requires heavy fines that are difficult to fight.

I got my drivers license from Florida and it was a joke. The entire test took place in the parking lot.

Well I was driving this morning on a major road and someone decided to back out slowly onto the road into the right lane from a strip mall. And it wasn't a big truck that had to back out, it was compact car that could have gone out the normal way like everyone else. And then they decided not to speed up once they were int the lane and I had to move out of the right lane so to not hit them.

So I'm not paranoid. And this wasn't in I-Drive area so not tourist.

OK. So does that mean the person who tried to run my girlfriend off the road is a tourist, or what about the person who pulled in front of me.

How Do We Know They Don't Live In O-town?
