I heard of the crash this morning on the net. My condolences go out to the driver that died and prayers to the one that is in the hospital. That monorail has been in service for 38 years and has been closed untill further notice.

That's sad to hear. I thought about that when the last train crash happened. I said to myself, I've never heard of the monorail crashing. How are ppl getting around Disney now?

I guess it depends on if it was the resort loop or the TTC loop. I imagine either way they are using more boats and buses.

It happened at the Ticket and Transportation Center. Here is a link: 1 Dead In Disney World Monorail Crash - Orlando News Story - WESH Orlando

I guess everyone will use the Ferry or a Bus for awhile.

Very sad story.

Unfortunately there ahve been about half a dozen incidents before, but I'm not sure anyone was ever killed. Very sad, my heart goes out to the young man's family.

Very sad. It makes me wonder - How many of us have ridden the monorail? I'll bet more have than haven't. I for one have.

Blessings to the families.

This was the first fatal accident involving the monorail. There have been half a dozen minor accidents in its history, but this is the first with any fatalities. It has a fantastic safety record given its been operational for 38 years transporting over 50 million visitors. Truely sad and our hearts go out to the family of the pilot.
