Also:

"Other Chinese investors in Lucid include venture capital firm Tsing Capital and state-owned Beijing Automotive."

LINK

Only time will tell if the China CCP has any impact on this automobile.

Time already told which is not much if you're talking about ownership. Since that article in 2017, Lucid Motors went through a lot of fundraising especially with the Saudi sovereign wealth fund which upped its stake to a majority but wasn't alone with Blackrock, Fidelity and Franklin Templeton joining in, and Lucid did a SPAC and went public. The minority stakes that Tsing Capital and Beijing Automotive had have basically diluted to pretty much no control though they likely made a pretty penny.

It might be, but it's not out yet and the ones closest to coming out are slated to be really high in price. Tesla can adjust the price or vehicle by the time this vehicle is released. I think with this and the EQE coming out, there's a good deal of competition coming for the S which is great.
Well, right now Tesla's raising prices. They may as well get it while they still can.

And they'd better figure out how to put a whole new interior in the S.
Oh wait... they just did. Somehow they managed to make the iPad appear even more tacked on.
But you can get a really goofy steering "wheel".

Don't forget... Lucid - $7500 tax credit. Tesla - $0.

I suspect that the really large battery size/capacity and the range that comes from it is as much if not more an outcome of wanting a faster/higher charging rate than it is just more range. It'll be interesting to see what the lesser, Lucid Air Pure charges at for peak rate and its charging curve.

Yep, Tesla's raising prices. I think once the EQE, EQS are available and Lucid shows a clear ramp to mass production, Tesla's going to seriously have to rework the value proposition of the Model S. I also think the federal tax credit at that price point is not insignificant, but a bit more minor.

Its pretty common for people to compare new EVs to Tesla but I find it a little strange to compare Teslas to cars that havent even made it into the hands of consumers yet.

If there's anything the rich like more than fancy cars, it's tax avoidance.

I am glad to see deliveries are happening. I did a quick youtube search and I dont see consumer reviews yet. It is my understanding that deliveries are only of the $170k+ Lucid Dream which is already about $40k+ more than a base model s plaid. So I wouldnt be getting a review of similarly priced cars. But I am looking forward to the reviews and I hope they can put out a better value than Tesla, competition is good for us consumers.

I was discussing electric cars with a friend of mine and he mentioned that there are some out that are better than Tesla. Certainly better is subjective but I am not aware of cars that one could say are available today that you could just say are ojectively better. He mentioned the Ford F150 electric and I asked if it was available and he said yes. Now I just looked it up and it looks like its not going to be available until Spring 2022. I am not sure what the deal is with treating electric cars that arent out yet as if they are out and are so great. The same friend suggested I get a Rivian, I think 2-3 years ago.

The Rivian R1T and Lucid Air are both supposedly in consumer hands at this point unlike the electric Ford F-150. The issue is that you'll be waiting a long time to get them if you put in an order now, but that's also apparently the case with ordering a new Model S or Model X right now. Obviously there are a lot more Model Ss and Model Xs that have been produced and you can much more easily get a used one of either of those since they've been in production for years now whereas you'd probably have to seriously track down a R1T or Lucid Air owner and offer them something ridiculous, possibly indecent, to get them to sell to you.

I'm not looking to buy one, just want to see consumers or some of my favorite YouTubers reviewing them. I've had my car for a year now which means I'll be looking to replace it in 2-3 years.
