Fisker now preparing for deliveries of the Ocean. Also, teasing images of their next offering, the Pear, a compact EV that will have a 300 mile range in its top trim.
Electric vehicle startup Fisker said Monday it remains on track to begin deliveries of its Ocean SUV this spring and to build more than 40,000 vehicles in 2023
Fisker is also going to open first delivery centre in Shanghai this year.
The review is very positive and it seems to have a decent chance of survival.

More than 40,000 vehicles this year when we're already halfway through? That doesn't seem very plausible to me. Not that building fewer than that this year means it's a failure, but this just doesn't seem reasonable given how the ramp up of EV production from other startups and even established automakers have gone in the recent past.

They have pretty wait list that's well over 40K vehicles, and it's quite possible that they have built many more Fisker Oceans than they have delivered so far, but it's hard to understand how that can happen within a span of six months and change. Rivian in its first full year (after having started deliveries in the late months of the year prior) of production produced 24,337 vehicles in 2022. Tesla's Model S did its first deliveries in June of 2012 and its year total for 2012 was 2,650 units and this is after having already cut their teeth on the Tesla Roadster. The Model S's total for the first full year in 2013 was 22K, the next full year in 2014 was 31K units.
22 Fisker Oceans delivered in California today on first day of delivery in the US. Forecast has been cut from over 40K to 32K-36K which while still tough is a bit more reasonable though I think that's quite optimistic.
FISKER ACCEPTS TOP AWARD FOR BEST ELECTRIC VEHICLE OF 2023
The Red Dot is the distinction for high design quality. The international jury awards the coveted seal of quality only to products that demonstrate outstanding design. In 2023, the award presented the Fisker Ocean electric vehicle in the category “Cars and Motorcycles.” The all-electric Fisker Ocean received the award for its attractive aesthetics, excellent functionality, and user-friendliness.
Well, hopefully they can survive and provide more options for consumers - today and for years to come.
Yes. If the price remains just under 40k for the base model with the range around 250 miles, it will definitely be on many people’s short list to buy, including mine. I am curious when Fisker will begin shipping the base model, as I believe it will be the last version sold (after the higher end models).
Generally quite positive and the vehicle seems to be living up to its specs and it has some neat tricks. Like other automakers have done such as GM recently with the Chevy Blazer EV, they're leading off with higher trim levels right now with lower priced trim levels to be made available later.

Looks okay. Interior definitely isn't 70k, but if they can actually make the 35k one for 35k then that's huge. I could see that taking off kind of like the Kia Soul did as a surprise hit. At 70k it's not going to sell well.
