Happy Monday December 8, everybody-and welcome to QOTD.

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
How many of those have school or team names on them ?

Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?

Today in History:
1943: Birth of American actress Mary Woronov
1947: Birth of American musician Gregg Allman

Today’s Question:

(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?
Can't think of anything tangible. A written computer report is the last thing. You could print it to make it tangible.
Recently I installed a couple of hooks here and there to hang things, but that's stretching the definition of assembly.
Last thing I disassembled was some dead tree limbs in the back yard.

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?
Yes, but only in case of illness, not daily allergy medicine.

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ? Very few and hardly ever wear them.
How many of those have school or team names on them ? Zero.

Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?
Just typical amounts of TP, toiletries, etc.
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
No.
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ? Not really. Just whatever's needed.

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?
I put together our floor standing fan a week or two ago, after dismantling it and storing it in the shed over winter.

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?
Yes, though they're probably out of date by now as I haven't had a cold in several years. The most important items in my anti-cold arsenal are horse-strength garlic pills (3,000mgs) - I take 6-8 of them at the first sign of a cold and the cold never eventuates!

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
One sweatshirt, 3 pairs of sweatpants - I hardly ever wear them.
How many of those have school or team names on them ?
The sweatshirt was given to me by my best guy friend (who is American) when it shrank a bit, and it has the name of his niece's Pennsylvania school on it.

Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?
Chocolate
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
This
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?

Thanks cloven!

Happy Monday to all.

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?
Does baking cookies count? I had to roll the dough, dip it in egg whites, sugar and chopped nuts, then make a well in the middle of each cookie and fill it with jam which I had strained to get the seeds out. That took quite a bit of assembly!
Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?
Yes, I routinely use an antihistamine (Benadryl) as a sleep aid. I buy cough syrup as needed but keep throat drops and menthol rub on hand. Neither Mr. Bay nor I has had any colds this year, knock wood.
Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
How many of those have school or team names on them ?
No sweatpants, but I have yoga pants and workout pants. Two sweatshirts but only one that I ever wear. I have a few worn-out ones that I keep in the garage to wear as painting clothes.
Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?
Paper towels
Kleenex
Toilet paper
Bar soap
Canned tomatoes
Tomato paste
Tomato sauce
Chicken stock
Wine
Trash bags
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?
Sometimes because the store is having a sale, but mostly to keep supplies on hand so we don't run out.

Thanks, cloven! Nice maze, and I really like the quote.

Happy Monday December 8, everybody-and welcome to QOTD.

Today it's an holiday for us, it is the Immacolata! Immaculate Conception - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It looks like a really boring religious celebration, but in practice for us today can be a really funny day. In fact with the Immacolata the Christmas period starts (and for us it lasts till the 6th of January). So today we are going to prepare the Christmas tree, the presepe Nativity scene - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and all the other Christmas decoration.

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?

At the organic chemistry lab... I had to assemble something like this

I want just to remember that all those part are made of glass.

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?

Sometimes I keep antihistamines in my bag, but I don't always remember to...

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
How many of those have school or team names on them ?

I don't like them, I have just a couple of those and I wear them exclusively at home. We are not so used to write our school name on our clothes... In practice I have only one T-shirt with the name of my high school, and it was made appositely for the celebration of the 150th anniversary since its foundation.

Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?

I'm not used to.

Good Monday to everyone!

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ? At the end of the summer me and OH put together a screen door to keep the mosquitoes out. We put it off for so long that the mosquitoes had already disappeared so its still not quite finished

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ? Yes. I have to bring good cold medicines back with me whenever I go to England as they don't sell decongestants over the counter here (gah!!) so I always make sure I bring back a good supply of them (a supply that has just run out though while I'm still ill ) and antihistimines and cough medicine are always in the cupboard because I never finish them when they're needed

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ? I have 3 pairs of jogging bottoms and I have a bunch of hoodies rather than sweatshirts
How many of those have school or team names on them ? None

Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ? Toilet roll and kitchen roll
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?

long long ago. I used to like doing that but not any more.

Extra Credit:

nope, unless tissue counts.

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
sweatpants, only one. Sweatshirts, a lot. I live in them. All plain except one with a teddy bear on it. oops-and another with Eeyore.

Just for Fun:

paper products and jasmine rice.
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?

The rice because it's quite a drive to the closest place that sells it. Paper products because I tend to forget to buy that stuff so when I do remember a buy a lot.

Today Is:
Green Monday
Pretend To Be A Time-Traveler Day-
now that sounds like fun. Let's all get together on Jan 31st, 1899, 2099, and 2199!
Brownie Day-is that Brownie as in pre-Girl Scout, or brownie as in chocoholic's delight?

Happy Monday December 8, everybody-and welcome to QOTD.

Today’s Question:
When’s the last time you physically assembled/put together something, anything
(could be furniture, but doesn’t have to be) ?
Sure, a few things, but mostly simple.

Extra Credit:
Do you keep cold/allergy symptom remedies (medications) on hand/around-
such as decongestants, antihistamines, or cough syrup ?
No. I rarely get sick. When I do it worse than a common cold so I go see my doctor.

Bonus:
How many sweatshirts and/or pairs of sweatpants do you own ?
How many of those have school or team names on them ?
I think two - Washington Capitals and Baltimore Orioles.

Just for Fun:
Which sorts of products (if any) do you buy “extra” of, stock up on-and/or buy in bulk ?
More often due to finding the item on sale (a good price)-
or because the item is difficult to find in stores (a rare discovery) ?
A rare discovery for me would be finding Bounty Soft Paper Towels. I noticed someone selling a 12 pack online for $300.00 recently. A couple of others were around $25.00 with the shipping. I passed. Do not want it that bad. Cannot think of anything else I ever buy in bulk. I usually buy a little here and there and I'm pretty set in my ways.
Sometimes I will grab a couple of extra items if it's on sale but it's not often that happens.

Thanks, cloven.
Wishing all a good Monday!

Close to this time last year, a new storage unit and desk chair. This is my biggest pet peeve ... I'm in protest against all of the "assembly required" & even the "some assembly required" products... these companies need to hire their own assemblers and sell me fully-assembled products that they also - willingly - deliver! That's one of the main things I wish went back to like it was in the "olden days"!

Allergy & cold meds.

Other:
We buy everything non-perishable that we can in bulk to cut down on both the cost and the number of shopping trips we have to make to the big cities to find what we need. We do have local stores, but their selections are minimal and their prices are ridiculously high compared to more competitive market areas nearby.
