I've not got the license yet, so CB, it will be for now. I've put up a forty odd foot horizontal wire antenna, which is facing directly at the USA. A bit later, I may be listening to a few American conversations. Had Europe coming in, but can't understand a word of it!
PAhippo, you might try to massage his spine gently starting from the head and towards the tail. I'm serious. This massage relaxes cats (and dogs) deeply. I do that and did that in the past with all my pets, usually they relax in a few minutes and fall asleep.

I'll try that but he really isn't a huggy or snuggly type cat. Not even crazy about being petted although he is getting used to it.
Had one at home, had one in the car. All pretty much pre internet. Once I had a computer, no need for a cb.
Hello, Kab. I've been thinking of getting a Ham Radio license, so thought I'd have a fiddle with CB for a a sort of a reintroduction to something I used to have an interest in. I still have a few sitting in boxes around the place, and all the kit that goes with them, so it's free, so good. The internet seems less real to me.

Hello, Motor. Yeah, I found it the same here, other than a couple of blokes talking about their choice of headphones, and a group down in Cornwall or Somerset, that all seemed to know each other well. (This is probably the extent of use in the whole of the south of England, maybe UK.)

Hello, Farm108. Sorry, I should explain, I'm in the UK, almost in the English Channel, and quite a bit above sea level. The Europe, is actually what I wasn't expecting though, especially Italy, but as for America, it's how the sun affects the ionosphere. It doesn't really matter what the mode or frequencies are reserved for, it all works the same, but I was using a massive antenna, (which I admit, I put up, because a YouTuber thought it couldn't be done), and a forty decibel pre-amplifier.
On the American side, I had quite a bit of, somewhat unintelligible stuff coming in, but one that stood out was a very loud station in São Paulo. (since he was speaking in Portuguese, the only words I could pick out), but nothing from the USA.
