Do you get a lot of ice in England? That is worse than snow, imo.
No, we don't get much ice here in winter. The weather has changed massively since I was a kid. We used to have real cold winters, with lots of ice and snow. Nowadays, some winters we don't get any bad weather at all........ just lots of rain.

I'm thinking that I'm sick of seeing photos of Wal-Mart customers posted just for them to get laughed at.

They may not be stylishly dressed but those behind the camera are worse.

As I watched a large flock of geese this morning loudly making their way south in what must be very frigid cold at the altitude at which they were flying, I wondered how many more cool fall days will I be given to enjoy such a sight and how blessed I have been in what seems to me to have been a very short life.

Ah, we have a public shaming discussion going on right now. It's rampant on any social media platform. Get a group of people who like to shame others to make themselves feel better.

I'm thinking about how close 2018 is. I expected 2017 to be a better year than 16. Not so! I don't have great expectations for 18.

I just read another post by someone who is moving to a new area and wants to be able to walk to shops and restaurants. What's up with that? Where did these people grow up? Obviously some kind of Mayberry place. I grew up in a small city, and you still had to drive to most places.

This is going to sound rude, but I mean it in the most sincere manner. Not everybody is going to do what you (or a lot of other people) do. Some people love to walk, ride a bike, or skateboard down to their local shops or restaurants. I have the option in my town to walk or drive, but I'm certainly not going to look down on somebody for doing something different.

Not rude at all. I think it's nice when you can leave the house on foot and go somewhere, anywhere. I've just never expected to have all of my needs and wants met within a 2 mile radius of my house.
