Summer weather has got me thinking.

Today's Questions:
If you could live in a world where the earth's axis didn't
tilt, causing seasons,
(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world?
Why or why not?

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more?

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night?

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever?

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected?

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind?

Foodie Question:
Can you give us at least one song, book or movie title that includes a food?
(list as many as you like)

Why or why not?
I would love to live where it is fall year round. I like the cool nights and mild temps during the day.

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more?
I have plenty

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?
This bring your mutt everywhere you go has gotten out of hand. I have no problem what so ever with real service dogs being allowed everywhere. Beyond that dogs have no business being where food is sold or served. There are too many loopholes in the law. People know this and blatantly abuse the law.

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night?
Yep

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever?
I prefer aspirin but that is what caused my ulcer. The only over the counter my doctor allows does nothing for me. So I have to fight thru the pain .

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected?
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind?
Nice try. I am not going to think of one and then have it stuck in my head all night

Foodie Question:

Ode To Stinky Cheese

Just for fun:
Take my veggies, please.

But hands off my last cheap beer.

It's got me sweating!

Oh no. The changes in seasons is a good thing. Breaks the monotony.
Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more?

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?
I'm a dog lover (big dog lover) bigger the better. We have a few here and there in our local grocery store at times. I don't really have a problem with it for those that have service dogs.
Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night?
Just the front porch light.
Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever?
I usually accept minor aches and pains as part of life and don't bother to medicate.
Is there a movie you liked more than you expected?
Not lately. Ghostbusters was about what I expected.
Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind?
"Take it easy" or "Fire all of your guns" at once.

Foodie Question:
Can you give us at least one song, book or movie title that includes a food?
(list as many as you like)
Cheeseburger in paradise, Margaritaville, Pina colada

Today's Questions:
If you could live in a world where the earth's axis didn't tilt, causing seasons,
(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world? No, because I love the changing of seasons. If I had to choose between mid-April and mid-October, I'd choose October.
Why or why not? It's a lovely time of year here, with mild days and cold nights. In October, some of the flowers in my garden are still blooming. Deciduous trees are showing off beautiful shades of gold, orange, yellow and red. It's a beautiful time of year.

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more? I need more! My house is 101 years old and, while it has updated wiring, when the new wiring was done they didn't add enough outlets. Both of my bedrooms contain only one outlet.

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live? If they're well-behaved, I'm fine with it.

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? No. I have enough neighbors who have security lights, so my front and back yards are fairly well lit all night. In fact, I wish it were darker out there. I'm not crazy about light pollution.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? Minor pain I put up with. If pain is bad enough to be distracting I'll take aspirin or Ibuprofen, but usually just one tab instead of two.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? Hmmm. Can't think of one at the moment. There probably are a few.

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind? "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head..." from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Foodie Question:
Can you give us at least one song, book or movie title that includes a food? (list as many as you like) Movie title: Chocolat.

Just for fun:
Take my wife, please. Just a couple of days ago, I heard a reply of Henny Youngman and he used this line.

But hands off my ink pen. I don't like it when someone comes in my office at work and uses a pen from my desk because they usually absent-mindedly walk off with it.

Today’s Word:
mot [moh] noun
a pithy or witty remark
Origin: French, as in 'bon mot,'literally 'good word'
also 'mot juste' for 'just the right word'
See also 'motto'
I was curious about this word but never remembered to look it up. I know it's an acceptable word in Scrabble but didn't know its definition till just now.

Today Includes:
Coast Guard Day Hooray for the Coast Guard!
India Pale Ale Beer Day Yuck. I don't like IPAs at all. I like Porters and Stouts.

This Week Includes:
Rock for Life Week Not sure what this means.
Simplify Your Life Week Wish I could do this.

August Includes:
American Indian Heritage Month Time to watch Dances with Wolves again.
Artists Appreciation Month I appreciate artists. Just a short while ago I returned home from a symphony concert. Lots of great musical artists there. It was wonderful.
Happiness Happens Month
What Will Be Your Legacy Month Hopefully something positive.

Summer weather has got me thinking. Oh-oh that sounds dangerous.

Today's Questions:
If you could live in a world where the earth's axis didn't tilt, causing seasons,
(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world? Sounds good to me.
Why or why not? No seasonal clothes to buy, no more seasonal foods, more freedom to move around, it would be like paradise to me.

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more? Enough, we added extras when we re-modeled.

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live? NO.

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? We have motion security lights.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? Don't like pills unless absolutely necessary.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? Not a movie fan today, in the good ol' days there were several good movies I liked.

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind? Supercalifragilisticexpialidotious,

Foodie Question:

Just for fun:
Take my empty popcorn bowl, please.

But hands off my cold beer.

Hay I think I passed that corn field recently. bjh

(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world?
Why or why not?
- Most of the time I do not want to live as it is, period. I just don't enjoy it and I've felt this way for a long time now...

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more? - Don't need anymore.

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?
- Not a fan of dogs, so...

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? - I live in an apartment.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? - I'm healthy and feel great, physically that is. Must be regular exercise, good diet, and staying away from alcohol (except for a very occasional beer) and tobacco It's the one thing I have going for me as an older person.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? - I watch very few of them. Not really my thing. Prefer music.

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind? - No.

Foodie Question:
Can you give us at least one song, book or movie title that includes a food? (list as many as you like)

Fresh Fruit - Procol Harum

Just for fun:
Take my job please. (would still like another one, with affordable health insurance).

But hands off my mushrooms (I will share though).

Thanks, bjh.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday!

tilt, causing seasons,

Why or why not? Just give me warm sunny days with cooler evenings and I'm happy

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more? I'd like a few more in some of the living areas

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live? no, too many people "think" their dog is just perfect and well-behaved ~ however reality the dog can become a problem for others. I love dogs but I also know they don't always obey their owners.............

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? Yes, and I've installed new dust-to-dawn LED lights in the front and back of the house and I don't have to turn on or off.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? I put up with most minor aches and pains - that's what happens as we get older.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? Yes, but I can't remember the name at this time.

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind? LOL Take this job and shove it, I ain't working here no more............. It's an old some from back in the late 70's that I happen to remember.

tilt, causing seasons,
(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world? Yes. The weather in this area is pretty much like that. Although I would love November weather all year with the mild, sunny days and crisp, cool nights.
Why or why not? No need to buy seasonal clothing like coats, gloves, mittens, etc.

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more? I wish I had more. My house is 66 years old and in a couple of rooms, I need to use a 3-prong adapter.

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live? As long as the dogs are well-behaved, I'm OK with it.

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? Yes.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? I put up with minor aches and pains and only take an Aleve when absolutely necessary.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? Yes, Parenthood starring Steve Martin and Mary Steenburgen. Here's the "Diarrhea song:"

Why or why not?
Weather that never changes can be rather boring, but I think I wouldn't mind living in a mid-October world.

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more?
Yes, all the outlets are three-prong.

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?
Yes, I love dogs.

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night?
No. Some of the neighbors have motion sensitive lights.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever?
Up to a point I can deal with minor pain, but if it goes on for more than half an hour or so then I'll take something.

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected?
Yes. Stagecoach (1939). it's a classic movie that I thought I would dislike because I'm not much of a fan of John Wayne or Westerns, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind?

"Those fingers in my hair
That sly come-hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
It's witchcraft.

And I've got no defense for it
The heat is too intense for it
What good would common sense for it do?"

-- "Witchcraft" (music: Cy Coleman lyrics: Carolyn Leigh)

If you could live in a world where the earth's axis didn't tilt, causing seasons,
(and nature had adapted to that) a world where the weather would always be
like mid-April or mid-October where you live, would you want to live in that world?
Why or why not?
I am a Spring person. I love April & May months best of all. It's a season of renewal, warmth, preparation and hope

Do you have enough three prong electric plugs in your home or do you wish you had more?
Living in the UK it's mandatory. So yes, I have shedloads

Some cultures allow (well-behaved) dogs in stores and restaurants.
Would you be okay with that where you live?
Mixed views on this. Guide dogs for the blind most definitely; but as others have said, it's becoming an open house these days. Owners will bring in 3 or 4 rather large dogs into a local pub/restaurant and make very little attempt at keeping them under control, especially when waiters/waitresses are trying to deliver food to tables!

Do you leave outside lights on at your home at night? I have proximity lights, that only come on when a warm object is in distance.

Do you usually put up with minor aches and pains, or do you prefer an aspirin or other pain reliever? I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to aches and pains (more so given that I run a lot). So will always reach for the pain relievers, sprays & creams

Is there a movie you liked more than you expected? "Shawshank Redemption" - I was thinking this would be a typical boys-own crime, prison breakout affair, and only watched it by accident (well I was with my parents at the time, and my dad tuned in to watch it, and I just fluttered in and out until about half way and then became far more engrossed)

Is there a song lyric or a line from a movie or TV show that stands out in your mind? "Get busy living or get busy dying." - Shawshank Redemption. Ha! Who knew!

Foodie Question:
Can you give us at least one song, book or movie title that includes a food? (list as many as you like)
