I remember those 2¢ bottles that only were good for a penny if they were dirty.... and they were 5¢ in the machine until one day inflation hit and they were then 6¢ in the machine for a 6 OZ bottle of coke.
I remember wax lips and baseball cards with hard crispy bubble gum.
Growing up where baseball was not played, I had no knowledge of who the players were. Any baseball cards I got ended up in the spokes on my bike. Looking back I wonder how many rare baseball cards I destroyed.

Many became valuable. Most were well-worn or mutilated. When boys moved out of the house, The central driving force of American motherhood was to collectively get rid of those damned baseball cards, what a waste of money. 30 years later the Mickey Mantle rookie card peaked at over $10,000.
Letters, in hand-addressed envelopes, with a stamp on the corner.
I still write/send them, and postcards too. Every year, many, not just a few. And I receive one or two a year usually from my parents. When they visit some castle in the mountains or other lovely places. A few weeks ago, I got one of their postcards. It only took 3 weeks to receive it. (from Europe)

I'm so old, I remember learning Latin in middle school. It was mandatory. I loved it but ... the grammar not so much. (5-7 cases of nouns!)
