I learned some square dancing in elementary school, too. I remember doing the Virginia Reel, too. Square dancing still has its devotees. There is a square dance club where I live but I live in Nebraska. Nevertheless, I think there are clubs even in the big cities.

We learned two dance steps in regular dancing classes--the waltz and the fox trot.

I remember learning the fox trot too!!! we lived next to an elderly neighbor (sweet as a bug!) and since I was a latch key kid at the time, (weren't we all?) I'd go over her house asking for milk & cookies, and giving her company, her making me feel secure about not being alone in my house, she'd have me learn the fox trot, I can't do that now at all
shucks, even the square dancing...lol, I would really love to learn to swing & tango, I think there might be a or some clubs here in Cali that have that (maybe for dance instruction or the older folks perhaps??)...oh I'm old too...

I remember eating silica gel, back in Japan the first time we went there. Heck I didnt know what it was, we were sitting there all watching tv (in Japanese) and I found a small package of salty tasting rocks and started eating them, my uncle finally noticed what I was eating and panicked....dont know what he was saying to me but he sure let me know in his own way, that I wasnt supposed to be eating it.

My phone number, as a child, was AN5-8131. Funny, how we remember!
Back in Guam we had 5-digit phone numbers, and back here in the states, remembering having to call the operator if you needed an ambulance or a cop. Our number was TUrner5-4897 .

How about 8 track tapes anyone? Remember having to install an 8 track tape player underneath the dashboard of the car and it was just kinda hanging out there looking all out of place but it was so cool to have tunes other than the radio!!
