I never did because I was a military kid and the military would only reimburse integrated schools which we attended. Honestly, and I know this is hard to believe, I had never even heard of segregated schools because we were in NY and then Hawaii in the 50s when I was in elementary school. We always lived in an integrated society when I was a kid. Yeah, I was sheltered and protected and I appreciate my folks and the military for that.

I remember running up to the gas station to pump the gas up in the globe holding it, and getting a 3 cent candy bar for my troubles.

Our mower was a reel type and no one had a gas mower...

I'm so old I remember... My dad getting his 1st issue of PlayBoy Magazine.. he was like Darren McGavin in Christmas Story and the leg lamp in the window the one from Fragillie.

I’m so old I remember when I first saw the Popular Science magazine and it talked about how electricity would be something new and important to light up the country and we would no longer need to use oil lamps……
