Too young to officially be hired by Colonial Stores the manager paid me to 'Rack Bottles' in the back of the store. Back then all soft drinks were in glass bottles and you paid a deposit for each one. Everyone returned their bottles to get refunded and the bottles needed to be 'racked' in wooden racks according to the type of drink.
There is a shoe repair shop where I live, too. I've taken shoes, purses, belts, anything leather to them over the years. There is so little demand for the services it is open only a few hours per week.
The one near me can't get caught up they're so busy. Usually a week's wait.
