I'm so old I remember...Watching filmstrips in school. The teacher would insert the filmstrip into the projector and then play the record that came with it. There would be a "ding" when it was time to move the filmstrip to the next frame.

I'm so old I remember these machines... and the great smell.. sit in class and sniff your copy and get wasted on the aroma along with the ammonia smell when they made Blue Prints

First thing that came to mind was:

Crushing tin cans and taking them for cash.

Green stamps that we got at stores for purchases and with the books filled
we could redeem for stuff.

Jumbo sandwiches, chipped ham ones too.

2-3 party line operator assisted telephone. I remember one # was 66R.

I was born in the great depression times. These are just a few that stand out.


Still want no parts of a microwave OVEN.

I'm so old I remember... When amusement rides at the fair where 10 cent.. hot dogs and a pop.. 35 cents.. You could live large as a kid with $5

I don't know which was better... the smell of fresh page off the mimeograph or the taste of a fresh bottle of white LePages Paste Glue.. the one with the brush..
