I camp in a tent. I don't take a house on wheels. A friend of mine cancelled her camping trip because the microwave messed up. lol
One thing different with camping now the what the tents are made of. Used to be made of canvas that kept all the rain out. Ours now I guess is nylon. I can tell you we found out that "water resistant" does NOT mean "water proof"! lol Everything got soaked during a 1 1/2" overnight rain.
My wife, who hadn't camped in over 31 years, looked at everything wet on her second trip this summer. We packed all the clothes and blankets up, headed to the nearest laundromat and were back enjoying camping by mid afternoon!

Love my 5th wheel.
Spent many, many of years doing the tent thing....cooking over the fire, fighting the ants, bee's, Oh yeah, the racoon's that like to steal your oreo's and not to mention finding the right tree to hide behind. For a lady that is a BIG issue, a guy can use any tree.....

So there just comes a time in ones life, (golden years) comfort is very important and well earned.....cause them old bones just don't do what they use to and mixing with the hard ground is one of them.....!! And I sure don't want to give up camping!!!

Camping to me is a Holiday Inn without a bar and room service.

When you are young there is adventure, exploration, enthusiasm and friends with the same interest.
I no longer wonder what it's like to be outside under the stars fighting bugs, sleeping on the hard ground with spiders, ants, snakes and other creatures

At my age I get all the adventure I need right here inside these four walls
